FORMULA KITE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, THIRD DAY OF RACING
MOROZ REMAINS IN THE LEAD AMONG WOMEN, AXEL MAZELLA TAKES FIRST PLACE

Marina di Torre Grande- Third day of racing on the race course set up in the Gulf of Oristano at Torre Grande. Today, 15 October, 28 races were held for the last qualifying heat: 10 women’s and 18 men’s races.
Frenchman Axel Mazella took the first place in the men’s ranking while Theo De Ramecourt was second followed by Maximilian Maeder, Singapore’s flag bearer.
Italy climbed up the rankings to fourth place with Riccardo Pianosi while fifth went to the English Connor Bainbridge.
Among the women, the podium of yesterday remained unchanged, with the American Daniela Moroz followed by the two French Lauriane Nolot and Poema Newland. In fourth place the English Ellie Aldridge and in fifth the Polish Julia Damasiewicz.
These are the results before protest time.
The top 30 in today’s rankings will make up the Gold Fleet, from where the best 14 will be selected for the Silver Fleet through to Sunday’s final stages.

“E’ stata una giornata molto impegnativa con un vento perfetto e 28 regate a chiusura del round di qualificazione” commenta Mirco Babini Presidente della Federazione Internazionale del Kiteboarding IKA e Presidente di CKWI (Classe Nazionale di Kiteboarding e Wingfoil). “Da domani Gold, Silver e Bronze per un grande spettacolo in diretta mondiale da Torre Grande con il commento tecnico dello staff IKA e di Tiger Tyson, giovane promessa del kite mondiale che al momento non può gareggiare.”
“Vedere i kitefoil dei campioni mondiali solcare le nostre acque è una sensazione impagabile”, afferma soddisfatto Eddy Piana, organizzatore dell’OWC. “Il Mondiale che Torre Grande ospita questi giorni è solo l’inizio di un percorso che porterà l’Open Water Challenge ad accompagnare i grandi sportivi verso il 2024”.

Saturday 16 October- 10:00 am Rider’s meeting and at 12:00 noon start of the Formula Kite World Championship.
Sunday 17 October- 11:00 am final stages; 4:00 pm prize giving and at 5:00 pm closing ceremony.
