OWC, sport, respect for the environment, protection of the territory Sport and the environment come together in a union through the biggest event on the west coast dedicated to waterboard sports, the Open Water Challenge, which this year will host the first stage of the Formula Kite Wold Championship.
The Green Village, which will take place on the Torre Grande waterfront on 9 and 10 October 2021, will bring guests into a dimension of environmental protection and sustainability.
Through a series of ‘talks’ with leaders of ‘green thinking’, meetings with NGOs, speeches by companies that have been working for years on eco-sustainable products, presentation of green projects by eco-partners, OWC will aim to involve people in an active reflection on the environment.
The two-day programme will be packed and enriched by talks given by experts from the various local associations working to protect the environment:IMC with Maura Baroli, the Area Marina Protetta Sinis Mal di Ventre with Massimo Marras, Sea Me with Valeria Andreotti, CNR-CRES with Andrea De Lucia, for Med Sea Vania Statzu will speak. The talks will also be attended by Alessandro Murana of Flag Pescando and Mauro Steri for Lega Coop. Also present the Ceas Oristano, the Cooperativa Sociale nel Sinis with Antonio Ricciu and the Clinica Veterinaria Due Mari with Monica Pais.
Among the guests will also speak Sara Segantin, ambassador of MedSea and one of the founders of Friday’s For Future Italy, will present her book “We are not heroes”. There will also be space for culture, food with cooking shows and exhibitors in the area dedicated to surfing. It will be possible to access freely to the dedicated areas by showing the Green Pass.
Environmental awareness is the watchword for an event that intends to appeal to the citizens who live the territory every day, as each of us is called upon to protect the environment that surrounds us. OWC also represents a space where we can discuss and inform on the theme of eco-sustainability, involving the public present in the respect of our precious environment, its nature and the preservation of our seas.
